Airport transfer companies offer a wide range of vehicles for your convenience, from sedans to minivans and mini-busses. All their cars are air-conditioned and have an experienced driver who will make sure you get to Marmaris safely and in comfort.

The drivers will wait for you at the exit with a sign with your name. This means you can immediately hop on the private vehicle and get your vacation started right away.

Private Marmaris Transfers Are Great For:

  • People who are arriving in the middle of the night (when airport buses and shuttles are unlikely to be running.)
  • People who prefer convenience, comfort and luxury
  • People with lots of luggage
  • Families, couples, or people traveling in groups

2. Airport Bus (Muttas) From Dalaman Airport To Marmaris

The Muğla Otobüsleri company operates an airport bus service from the Dalaman Airport to Marmaris Bus Station. Along the way, it stops at Dalaman, Ortaca, Köyceğiz and other small cities and towns.

The airport bus Muttas, is a good choice if you are on a tight budget, as it is cheaper than a taxi or a private shuttle. However, this might not be the case depending on the size of your group.

The airport bus (Muttas) leaves from outside the domestic arrivals terminal and takes about 1.5 to 2 hours to arrive in Marmaris. It is a little bit slower than an airport transfer or taxi because of all the stops it makes along the way.

Operating hours of the Muttas Bus From Dalaman Airport To Marmaris

Technically speaking, the Muttas Bus runs 24/7. According to their official site, their departure time is correlated to the arrival times of the flights. Ideally, this means after you get off the plane, go through customs, pick up your luggage, and exit the airport, the bus should be right there waiting for you.

Well, that’s what we thought too, at 2 AM in the morning. But unfortunately, we didn’t find any buses waiting to take us to Marmaris, and instead were told the next one was at 8:30 AM.

Many online claim that the earliest bus is at 4 AM, and we can confidently say there wasn’t one that day.

We knew something was wrong when we were exiting the airport and saw everyone sleeping on the benches.

That is why from now on, we only use a private transfer service from the airport instead.

📖 Note: If you are trying to catch one of the airport buses from Dalaman to Marmaris, then we recommend you to get through the airport as quickly as you can. These buses leave once they are full, so you might miss it and have to wait several hours for the next one if you are slow.

Because they are so unpredictable, there isn’t much you can do besides just showing up and hopping on the next one. As long as they are still within the hours of operation, you’ll be fine.

📖 Note: There’s an “official” site that has the timetable for the Muttas Bus, but we found it to be very inaccurate. You can check it out here and try your luck.

They both cost the same amount, depart at the same time from the airport, and take about the same amount of time to reach Marmaris.

When the taxi drivers do use the meter, they often take detours that could rack up your fare. We recommend being extra cautious when taking a taxi from Dalaman Airport.

If you plan on taking a taxi, we would just recommend you to arrange an airport transfer ahead of time. Not only will you not have to deal with any of the scams, but you can expect amazing service in an air-conditioned vehicle.

You can make spontaneous detours, stop for breaks whenever you want, and discover hidden gems along the way that are not accessible by public transportation.

If you have a rental car, we recommend you to check out Fethiye, Oludeniz (Blue Lagoon), Kayakoy, Kas, Datça, Köyceğiz, and Dalyan.

Surprisingly, they are not very cheap, especially with DiscoverCars, as they aggregate all companies, international and domestic, to give you the best price possible.
